Overview

The Intangible Intelligence® Health Check financially values lost revenue, earnings, costs, and shareholder value that can be re-captured by implementing intangible intelligence, intangible management, and other value-creation-focused disciplines.

 

As you investigate the software, you will see that reported financial performance, and immediately accessible financial performance are different.   For years, managers and executives have understood and known that best practice gaps - areas of value improvement and cost reduction - have existed within their operations.  

 

Until the Intangible Intelligence® Health Check the financial value of these areas, especially when related to improvements in knowledge (improving sharing, more quickly finding information, etc), collaboration (phone calls, meetings, synergies with others, etc), leverage (errors, rework, internal politics, etc), and structural issues (such as absenteeism, sick leave, etc) was managed by "gut feeling" - not financially.   It is through the development of international intangible standards, that it is now possible to financially value the contribution of intangible activities to financial performance.  This software is the first to share intangible standards with the world.

Getting Started

Intangible standards assess actual productivity whilst identifying and financially valuing activities with untapped value creation potential.  These intangible activities will be looked at more closely as you progress through the online help.  For now, find the structural disengagement section in the Intangible Intelligence® Health Check (bottom left) and change the default values to those listed below:

You will notice that as you change a single slider, multiple things will update.  In truth, results throughout the Intangible Intelligence® Health Check are updating whenever you change a slider.   You'll learn more about this powerful feature as you progress.  Changing the values will show a screen that looks like this:

Revenue Effectiveness

The Intangible Intelligence® Health Check is the first to financially value:

 

    • Revenue Effectiveness:
    • How reported revenue is generated by knowledge, collaboration, and leverage activities - in accordance with international intangible standards
    • The actual productivity of reported revenue in terms of the effectiveness of knowledge, collaboration, and leverage activities  - in accordance with international intangible standards.
    • How organizational culture supports the generation of revenue related to knowledge, collaboration, and leverage activities - in accordance with international intangible standards
    • The value of productivity improvements related to increasing the effectiveness of knowledge, collaboration, and leverage activities  - in accordance with international intangible standards
    • The above is easily managed through one key management metric - revenue effectiveness.   Revenue effectiveness gives the percentage of revenue generated to revenue lost and can be reported at any level of strategic execution
    • Revenue losses associated with revenue effectiveness are reported on the first page (Area 4).  Revenue losses per week, and per month, are highlighted also.
       

 

Revenue effectiveness

 

 

In this example, we see that the increase in structural disengagement has resulted in nearly $7m of revenue being lost by the organizations - as staff are not in a position to work and have therefore lost their productivity.  These productivity costs are assessed at $132,371 per week and $573,607 per month.

 

Wage Effectiveness

The Intangible Intelligence® Health Check is the first to financially value:

 

    • Wage Effectiveness
    • How reported wages are allocated across knowledge, collaboration, and leverage activities - in accordance with international intangible standards, and the wage costs associated with each activity
    • The actual productivity of reported wages in terms of the effectiveness of knowledge, collaboration, and leverage activities  - in accordance with international intangible standards.
    • The investment of wages in organizational culture and how those investments support the generation of revenue related to knowledge, collaboration, and leverage activities - in accordance with international intangible standards
    • The value of wage cost effectiveness improvements related to increasing the effectiveness of knowledge, collaboration, and leverage activities  - in accordance with international intangible standards
    • The above is easily managed through one key management metric - wage effectiveness.   Wage effectiveness gives the percentage of wage allocated to productive activities relative to non-productive wages and can be reported at any level of strategic execution
    • Non-productive wage allocations associated with wage effectiveness are reported on the first page (Area 5).  Wage losses per week, and per month, are highlighted also.

In this example, we see that the increase in structural disengagement has resulted in nearly $2m of wages being wasted by the organizations - as staff are not in a position to work and have therefore lost their productivity.  These wage costs are assessed at $35,391 per week and $153,360 per month.

 

Earnings Quality

The Intangible Intelligence® Health Check is the first to financially value:

  • Earnings Quality
  • How reported earnings are allocated across knowledge, collaboration, and leverage activities - in accordance with international intangible standards, and the earnings generated from each activity
  • The actual productivity and quality of reported earnings in terms of the effectiveness of knowledge, collaboration, and leverage activities - in accordance with international intangible standards.
  • The investment of earnings in organizational culture and how those investments support the generation of financial performance related to knowledge, collaboration, and leverage activities, all in accordance with international intangible standards
  • The value of earnings improvements related to increasing the effectiveness of knowledge, collaboration, and leverage activities - in accordance with international intangible standards
  • The above is easily managed through one key management metric - earnings quality.   Earnings quality gives the percentage of earnings generated to earnings lost due to ineffective intangible activities and can be reported at any level of strategic execution
  • Earnings losses associated with earnings quality are reported on the first page (Area 5).  Earnings losses per week, and per month, are highlighted also.

In this example, we see that the increase in structural disengagement has resulted in more than $2m of earnings being lost - as staff are not in a position to work and have therefore lost their productivity.  Earnings losses are assessed at $42,118 per week and $182,511 per month.
